Rayman Raving Rabids: Wii:
Rayman Raving Rabids was the first 'Rabids' game for the Wii, there are two more currently, (Raving Rabids 2 and TV Party), and a third is about to be released. Rayman on the other hand has been around for about fifteen years. Rayman is a funny looking fellow with strange floating hands, feet and head. The Rabids are super cute, (in my opinion, some people hate them), fluffy white bunnies.
The plot of Rayman Raving Rabids, (if you can call it that, it's very weak and basic), is that Rayman is captured and looked in a cell, (a bedroom really), attached to an arena of sorts. Rayman has to complete levels which each feature four mini-games and then a boss fight. To unlock the boss fight, (and therefore be able to move onto to the next level), you have to complete at least three out of the four mini-games. After each level Rayman will receive a plunger which he uses to form a stairway to escape through a window high up in his cell to escape.
The mini-games are really simple and very short; none will take more than a couple of minutes which is a great advantage for people like me who can get bored easily playing games. My favourite game is the shooting type game when you get to shoot plungers at bunnies and strange mechanical robots. Most of the games use the Wii remote and the nunchuk but several use just the remote. Other games include shaking the remote to fire a bunny into the air and racing on the back of a warthog. We always end up laughing like crazy when we play!
For me Rayman Raving Rabids is a 'party game', meaning that it is far more fun when played with a group of people instead of on your own. This means you can play the games you want, (either the multi-player games with up to four players), or by passing round the remote and taking turns. It gives you enough time to nip to the loo or make a cuppa without interrupting play.
After a while the game could get boring as the games are very samey but for a bit of fun with your mates you can't beat it. Amazon currently stock new copies for £17.96 with free postage but I'm sure you could pick it up a bit cheaper either pre-owned in game shops or on eBay.
Summary: Good fun with Rabids
