Advantages: Great story, controls may appeal to some

Disadvantages: Dated graphics, repetitive, cheats which can't be turned off, not much replay value

OK, I want to get one thing out of the way. If you own a PS3 or an Xbox 360 as well as a wii, get it for the HD console. Why? I'll tell you.

The Force Unleashed suffers for the wii, mainly due to the fact it just looks a whole lot worse than its HD competition. If you play the PS3 or 360 version you're not going to want to touch the wii version. Now I know what you're thinking; surely the wii version will be good 'cos its got motion control. I've always wanted to swing a lightsaber around in a video game! Trust me, if you've heard the term 'waggle' before you'll know why I hate the controls. They're not terrible and the lightsaber controls are better than Zelda: Twilight Princess' sword control but I still would rather press a button than waggle a controller.

Anyway, Force Unleashed takes place between episodes 3 and 4 and revolves around the story of Darth Vader's secret apprentice. You're tasked with destroying surviving Jedi for the first part of the game and the second part, well, I won't ruin it for you. It has been said that the story of this game is better than the Star Wars prequels and it shows. The story is the best part of the game, despite the whole new array of unfamiliar characters.

The gameplay is average, put bluntly. As you waggle the wiimote to swing your saber you can push forward the nunchuck to force push and..... in terms of motion control that's it. You press c to strike lightining, press another button to jump and hold down Z to grab objects. There is some motion control in terms of throwing objects but because you're always under fire, you won't be using this aspect often. The gameplay is fun, for about an hour. In fact I got bored with it by the 2nd level.

Another gripe with the game is how it always sends you back to the same locales you've visited. You visit Coruscant 3 times and its always at the Jedi temple.

Also, when you complete the game, you can't play any particular level again, you have to start all over again.

AND, you unlock codes which can't be deactivated once turned on, that was incredibly lame.

So is it worth buying? No. Is it worth renting? Yes. Star Wars enthusiasts will get a kick out of the story and the controls may appeal to some. Despite this, the game is much better for the PS3 and 360. The graphics just look so dated compare to those versions. The wait goes on for a decent Star Wars experience for the Wii.

Summary: Certainly faulty, but Star Wars fans may get a kick, just not on this version
