Advantages: Great variety of game play, cast of characters and visual richness.

Disadvantages: I'm not very good at lots of it....

Ooh, I'm loving this! Mr Neenaw has been recommending me to try Super Mario Galaxy for a while now, and he was right! I'm not always such a bit action game fan - I often prefer strategy type stuff, but I'm beginning to think this is just because I don't really like traditional handsets.

Super Mario Galaxy, however, is for the Nintendo Wii, and as such uses the Wii controller + nunchuck, and it's really fun to use. The overall story is that Princess Peach has been kidnapped and Mario is out to rescue her. You travel the galaxies to investigate the different planets, collecting power stars to fuel your search. I'm not that far into the game, so don't know how it will end up. However, I've played enough to know that this is one of the most fun games ever!

The graphics are great, the controls are pretty intuitive and there's loads and loads of game play. All the Mario characters that I previously only knew from Mario Kart are appearing with a purpose (e.g. Rosaline, Bullet Bills, Toads) making for a huge cast of varied characters.

It's a great mixture of exploring your way around planets, working out how to navigate certain puzzles/tricky bits and how to defeat your enemies. Then you'll suddenly find a planet which is pure racing action - e.g. riding a ray down a water course without falling off the galaxy to get your power star!

Hugely fun and entertaining, with a great mixture of different challenges, and so far a good range of difficulty - I do get stuck but usually find that if I come back to it later and persevere I can get through! All in all a fab game!

Summary: Just a brilliant, great fun game for the Wii
