Advantages: Ideal for all golfing levels from beginer to expert.

Disadvantages: A little hard, and slightly let down by annoying faults.

Having recently bought myself the Wii system, Tiger woods pga tour 10 was the game that I really wanted included in my bundle. I have never played any of the previous versions of the series, indeed the last computer golf game that I played was Leaderboard on the C64 some 25 years ago. My interest was heightened by the fact that I have taken up real golf within the last 2 years.

So is it any good?...Yes very, but it is not perfect.

This game came with the fabled motion plus accessory, which is supposed to make your swing almost the same as the real thing. It certainly feels realistic, I never thought that I would be taking up my proper golfing stance and follow through in the middle of my living room! The ball flies off with a satisfying clunk after you have hit it. Landing more often than not just where you hoped it would. That said, my wife who can barely manage to get the golf ball in the air on a real course managed to match me stroke for stroke, and even ended up beating me, so it might feel and act realistic but it can be beaten.
Putting, this took me ages to get right, the ball kept on flying well past the hole, and even now it still catches me out.

The way that you move forward throughout the game is through a career progression option. In which you set up your Character features to look like yourself. I liked this option there is an enormous amount of things to alter to get the right look, (my wife was not best pleased though, as I made her character have an enormous backside).

One thing that I should have realised and is obvious really, is that it can take quite a while to play 18 holes, 1-2hours would be a good estimate.
This is where the career progression system can be very annoying, if you save the game after say 10 holes you cannot then go onto play any other in game options i.e. disc golf, party mode etc, without losing your entire round, either that or you are forced to finish you partly saved game. There is nothing more annoying than losing 1 hour of previous play because some friends want to have a game. Also for some reason on my version the commentary has disappeared, unless you play as Tiger woods, and yes it is set to on in the options, although the commentary can be annoying is better than none at all, I can only think that this must be some sort of bug, as I have not managed to get it back.

A previous reviewer stated that the game play was easy; I found this not to be the case. Yes if you have the all-play swing mode on you can see the trajectory of the ball flight and where it will land, but this is too easy and not really any fun. When playing in normal mode the game is quite hard, and club selection is difficult to get right.
I have only managed to get under par once, usually about 8 shots behind the leaders!

The party modes are great fun and are great for quick play, disc golf seems very hard to me, but I am unable to play it on sports resort either.

I think that the graphics are good, not sure what else people expect to see other than water, trees, grass etc.

That probably covers most of the game, sorry if the review rambles a bit but I tried to be as comprehensive as I can.
In short this game is good for real golfers and novices alike both of which can play alongside each other due to set-up options.
It is slightly let down by some of the problems that I have stated that said I am still playing it (and enjoying it). So it gets the thumbs up from me.

Summary: Feels great, long lasting, enternaining!
