Advantages: completely different experience, fun, random, very enjoyable
Disadvantages: not great depth
Firstly, if there was a box for random weirdness then this game would definitely score max points. That said the playability and enjoyment do benefit as a result of the general insanity of this product. At the outset of the game the instructions are to make sure the "form baton" (wiimote) is secure and also to ensure there is nothing close that you may break in your gesturing. What stayed with me however was the instruction to leave your inhibitions behind, you cirtainly need to with a game that has you picking noses and clipping toenails one minute and grating mobilephones 5 seconds later!
In essence this is a minigame collection in which you play as one of your 'mii's' and complete stages which consist of around 10-15 minigames in quick succession while holding the wiimote in various 'forms' that range from the self explanatory "remote control" to the "big cheese" where you hold your hands on your hips and stick out your chest like a CEO apparantly. At the end of each stage you complete a boss level and on completion you unlock more levels/ movies/ minigames and more 'forms'.
There are no instructions for each minigame, the only information the user is given is the Form to hold the remote before being plunged into a game that lasts a few second. For example a picture of the boxer form flashes up... You quickly hold the remote horisontally in one hand... then a paper shredding device appears and you are commanded to Shred. all games are completely intuitive and in this example you would have to move your hand as if you were turning the handle on the device.
The use of the Wiimote is very creative through all of the games and is a wonderful showcase for its uses. throughout the game it is responsive but i would definitely recommend standing directly infront of the sensor bar at a good distance to stop any unresponsiveness creeping in and loosing you a life.
The tone of the game is very light and funny and completely random which leads to an entertaining experience all round. The graphics of the game are simple and 2D but are clean and clear. they remind me of a good flash movie in places only better. Not exactly next gen! but for this game the are more than adequate. In minigames graphics range in styles from any previous nintendo consoles like NES mario or N64 Zelda and DS 3D nintendogs.
Although the main Game is relatively short, at the end you unlock a few multiplayer modes which help in the longevity of the game and give a little bit extra replay value for your investment.
At launch this was the best game available for the Wii in the UK and it was at the top of my list but i was a little dissapointed, in hindsite I think i may have even gone for red steel instead. It's not that this isn't a good game its just that its not for me. I would recommend for anyone who is already a fan of the warioware series and people who want a fun and lighthearted game that is quite frankly a departure from the usual minigame collections you may have played in the past.
Summary: a departure from the usual minigame collections you may have played in the past
