Advantages: Lots of activities to choose from

Disadvantages: None

Wii Fit Plus is a game designed to get you moving and has extra get fit games to the previous wii fit game, it is made to be played on the wii console and you will need the wii balance also to be able to interact with all the games. Wii fit plus contains some activities which were present in the first wii fit game alongside 15 new balance and aerobics games and 6 new stranght training and yoga games. It also has added features such as a calorie counter so you know how much your burning as you play, you can also customize your workout based on the areas you want to target. Most of the activities are single player though it does allow you to flip between miis which is also a added feature not available on the previous game and you can take turns with up to 8 players.

So heres what you can do......
First off..............
It starts off with adding your mii to the game then you have to step onto the wii board to be weighed deep breathe in and away you go the wii will calculate your weight and your bmi and then put you in one of the 4 categories - Underweight, Normal, Overweight or Obese. You then set a target for what you want to do mine normally being loose weight and then you pick the time scale to meet your target and your results are plotted on a graph. Children3+ can be measured personally I think thats a little early to be encouraging children to weigh themselves on a programme that may well say they are overweight and cause them distress.

You then get to choose whether you want to do
Yoga, Strength, Aerobics, Training Plus or Balance activities.

The Yoga stetches include..
Spine Extension
Gate
Grounded V
Strength Training
Balance Bridge
Single-Leg Reach
Side Lunge

These are aimed at toning your muscles you use the wii balance board as you perform the moves and the board measures how accuratley you are performing the move some can be a little tricky to start with you have been warned.

Strength training activities include.....

Single leg extension
Torso twist
Push-up and side plank
Jack-knife
Lunge
Balance bridge
Side lunge
Side leg reach

These activities are designed to help build and tone muscles and again some are quite hard to master especially the single leg extension wobbled all over the place when I started this one.

Balance games include
Soccer heading - one of my favourites you lean left and right and have to miss the pandas flying at your head and get the footballs.
Ski slalom- its quite tricky you have to lean forward and move to left and right as you head down the slope.
Ski jump- you bend a nd stretch to see how far you can jump.
Table tilt- I quite like this one a little ball shows on the screen and you have to lean until the ball drops into the hole on the shape on screen without making it fall off the edge. Another ball then appears and you have to get that down the hole to, its quite addictive.

Training plus games to get you moving
Balance bubble plus - your in a bubble and have to get through the course without bursting it.
Perfect 10 - where the screen shows numbers and you have to move to make them add up to ten
Island Cycling - you have to 'cycle' around the island using the wii fit board and collect flags in this highly addictive game
Rhythm Kung-Fu - you follow the onscreen mii routine in true kung-fu style
Segway Circuit- you ride around the course on a erm how do I explain it, its like a board with 2 wheels and a steering colom you hold onto you lean forward to go then you have to go round the course popping ballons
Tilt City- looks like a platform game a ball drops and you tilt left to right to guide it into the correct coloured tube
Rhythm Parade- use your wii remote and nunchuck and shake them to the beat of the music.
Big Top Juggling - balance on a ball and juggle balls.
Basic run plus- jog around the course
Snowball fight - leaning left and right throw the snowballs as you go.
Skateboard areana- balance on the wii board and ride around the skate park.
Driving range- a golf game I am not very good at lol.
Birds eye bulls eye - for this one you have to flap like a bird and fly around the course collecting points.
Obtacle course- has you running and jumping (with care because your on the balance board) around the course dodging bolders and moving platforms.

Aerobics games include
Hula hoop- on the the balance board you go right and left swinging your hips around great for working the stomach muscles.
Basic Step - where you step on and off the balance board to the beat its simple but I find it addictive I always want to beat my score.
Running and 2 people running - jog on the spot alone or with a friend.

There is more than I realised once I had started writing lol. There is definatley enough to get you moving you also have the option of putting together your own routine although Iwas a bit disappointed with that as you are only able to put together routines with a certain amount of the games it would have been better if you could have selected something from everygame for more variety like you can on the ea active game.

I do find this game entertaining and enjoy playing it I find the balance games, training and aerobics the most entertaining as the yoga and stretching I find a little slow although thats the point and you can feel them working. I just prefer to move I think you would have to play it for long periods of time to actually loose a vast amount of weight but if you normally sit down alot then any monement is great and its fun to.

An enjoyable game for all though I do think 3 is a little young I agree children should keep active but just not to the point that weighing themselves becomes a obsession. The cheapest I have found this for with balance board online is £71.45 from Zavvi it can also be purchased alone, if you have the old game with the board.
