Advantages: Suitable for all age groups and abilities
Disadvantages: Some activities take a while to load up
When we got our Wii, this was one of the games that we wanted to get. After about a 6 month wait, I managed to grab one at work for £70.
I was really looking forward to trying it out. I used to be quite active, doing judo, volleyball, jogging and badminton every week. However, I managed to sustain an injury to my knee during a judo competition about 2 years age, which meant I was unable to exercise for about 6 months. However, even now I suffer pain in my knee when I exercise and am still having treatment on it. This lack of exercise has led me to put on a few kilo's, so the wii fit was the ideal way to try to shift them!
For me, the wii fit is the perfect way to get about half an hour of exercise each day. The activities are both gentle and a lot of fun, with four main groups of activities - yoga, aerobic exercises, muscle workouts and balance games. With these activities and the daily body tests, its very easy to see your progress, or where you're slipping up a bit! Also, it after entering details about your age and height, the wii fit works out your body mass index, giving you a goal to achieve your ideal weight for your height. I have to admit, sometimes it's hard to get going, but once I'm on the board, I can easily spend half an hour doing gentle exercise. It's even got my dad exercising!
The only downside that in my opinion, the wii fit has, is that it takes a lot of time for activities to load up, and although it gives you lots of feedback, sometimes I would prefer to just be able to do a solid workout rather than stopping and waiting!
Summary: Good for a healthier lifestyle
