Advantages: Portable, doesn't take up much room, cheapish and quite entertaining
Disadvantages: Not a revolutionary weightloss/exercise system
When I saw a Wii Game that was supposedly going to help me lose weight I jumped at the chance! However don't expect this to be a quick fix!!
I will begin with the positives: it's easy to use, anyone of any age could probably use it! And unlike bulky espensive exercise equipment or dvds, you don't need too much room to do the different exercises (put it this way, i could use it in my small room at Uni halls!!) The aerobic and balance games are by far the most fun!
I personally couldn't do much of the yoga, i guess practice makes perfect, but to try and keep that little dot in the circle was painful! This is the same with a few muscle workouts, therefore some activities are more suited to the more experienced.
While the aerobic games are fun, there isn't much variety once you complete different levels. It's fine if you share your Wii Fit, and so can compete with friends or family. The best you can do is compete with yourself - which is always challenging but sometimes not as fun! Also they don't get your heartrate up enough (with the exception of Super Hula perhaps and Jogging) therefore there isn't much 'fat burning' going on!
As for the body tests, I think they're a great idea but weren't so inspiring when you lost a few pounds and your Mii was still disappointed with that very condescening music playing in the background just because you haven't reached your target in the first day (note that if you do lose vast amounts of weight quickly, it will moan at you!!)
Also i couldn't grasp the concept of doing a 'daily' body test... i'm not going to lose a 1lb a day (if i did i would be criticised through my TV screen) so surely a weekly or biweekly test makes more sense. It mentions how your weight fluctuates during the day, well thats the same for the entire week, surely!?!
Overall, this product was quite entertaining, but i tired easily of it! Sure, use it to tone up or just for a change from your normal exercise routine, but do not rely solely on this as it is unlikly to be the revolution of weightloss! Eat healthily and do exercise you love and the weight will drop off in no time!!
Summary: Great for a change but should not be relied too heavily upon!
