Wii Fit (Wii)
Advantages: Fun, improves fitness
Disadvantages: Board can be annoying to store
I'm quite a gamer having an xbox 360, ps2, wii, gamecube, ds and psp in the house, however despite this I didn't know what to expect from the wii fit as it is unlike most other gaming systems.
Wii Fit arrived in my house as an impulse purchase of my parents. I was finally allowed to unbox it when christmas day dawned and i did so with great excitement.
Along with the board I also got a cover for it which has proved very useful so far in keeping the board clean.
The wii fit game is very enjoyable comprising mini games, yoga poses, muscle exercises and aerobic exercises, all of which involve the use of the balance board. My favourite activities are the stepping and the boxing. There is also jogging for which you do not use the board.
There also exercises to help you stand so your centre of gravity is actually in the centre not to the side and the board is able to calculate your bmi if you input your height.
Wii Fit is a fun way to keep track of your fitness and to exercise, however i wouldn't recommend completely abandoning the gym.
