Advantages: Better than sitting around, games are fun, exercises can really work, balance board very good.
Disadvantages: Uses BMI.
While this is often scoffed at by many of the Xbox/Playstation crowd, this "game" is actually far better than it gives the impression of.
Many of the balance games, such as snowboarding and skiing are brilliant fun, especially when you have the friends or family around, the leader boards giving you a great sense of satisfaction when you top it, or even make the top 10 in an ultra competitive family.
But the games are not really what this is about. The exercises are the main bread and butter of the game. Many people will say, "oh it's not real exercise" but when you use it for a 20 minute on the spot/up down stairs run, 10 minute boxercise, press ups and jackknifes, boy do you feel it the next day. If you do it right and do it fairly often you genuinely get the sense you are achieving something. The msucle exercises really feel as if they work in the majority of cases, the yoga is weird but relaxing and the body fat burners, it is hard to tell, but they get the blood pumping. With things like the boxercise, it is best to try and hold heavier weights in your hands while you do it, but it can be hard to hold with the wii controllers.
The games main fault lie in the BMI tester, where drinking a glass of water can push your BMI up, so it doesn't give a great indication of progress. For instance my BMI was 20.1 after a drink and dinner and the game told me i'd put on two pounds. Clearly this was down to the food. If you're body hurts the next day, you're doing it right
Summary: A game that keeps you coming back for more.
