Advantages: Good for kids, easy to play, bright colours etc!

Disadvantages: Requires no skill making it a little boring.

My brother got this game for last Christmas, he had been wanting it since he first saw the adverts for it.

On Christmas day we got the game out and started playing with it. It had cost £40(ish) at that time, but is now around £30 (well £29.99).

GAME PLAY:
The game can be played by up to 4 players, as long as you have 4 Wii remotes, but the game can be easily played with just one player. You make a profile, and you are "taught" how to play "instruments" using your wii remote, there are hundreds of different instruments which you can play, from wind instruments, string, percussion etc etc etc. Using only the wii remote, by holding it at different angles, pressing buttons etc.

Playing each instrument is pretty easy, and it gives you clear instructions as to what you do to "play" each one, and these instructions are very easy to follow, making the game great for youngsters.

The actual game though isn't all that fun really, there are a couple of songs but these are songs like "twinkle twinkle" and the likes...not modern songs which kids would really be all that interested in...and the player has to play along to the beats, but if you miss them you don't "lose", so really there doesn't seem to be any reason to play it...as you don't really have to work at the game.

You unlock more songs as you go along, but these are the same kind of classical songs, again not really what most kids want to listen to. But, you can kind of speed it up by conducting it faster, using more "rocky" instruments like Bass Guitar and drums etc.

When you have completed a song, you then make a "video" of it, like a real music video, and then make a cd cover with your Mii on it, which you get to design youself.

All in all, the game is ok, but it's not the best game I have ever played, it can be abit boring, and doesn't require any skill at all to play the game, for this, it is good for young children, but no older than say 14, it can be fun for half an hour or so, but does get a little tedious, the music isn't as fun as I thought it would be, and as I said it doesn't require enough skill to be a great game.

For a youngsters game I give this a 4 out of 5, but for an adult game, I give it 1 out of 5, hence the 3 stars.

Summary: A good game for kids but not much good for older people
