As a game which came free with the Wii console, 'Wii Sports' had little to prove - a title designed to show off the ingenious controls of the new machine, which at times meant that it felt like a bit of a glorified tech-demo. The sequel 'Wii Sports Resort' is tied in with the release of MotionPlus - the little white box that plugs into the bottom of the Wii controller, offering much more accuracy and finesse of controls - but does the game make the most of the new technology, or is it a missed opportunity? Set on the tropical island of 'Wuhu', Sports Resort allows you to compete in twelve different sporting disciplines, each one designed to push your skill and ... Read the complete review

Wii Sports Resort was my youngest brothers birthday present but for the purpose of research I decided to try it out myself. The game is for the Nintendo Wii and has a whopping recommended retail price of £49.99 although it is currently selling on Amazon for £39.99. This price includes the game and a "Wii Motion Plus". ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ The Wii MotionPlus ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ This is an accessory which attaches to your Wii Remote to enhance its motion sensing capabilities. It detects and reproduces your movements in the game, so whether you are playing basketball or doing some archery, every little ... Read the complete review

~~~~~~~~~~~ INTRODUCTION ~~~~~~~~~~~ Our Nintendo Wii has been hibernating under our TV, gathering dust since shortly after Christmas. The Wii party games made a brief appearance for the holidays and the shine of Wii Fit wore off after our New Year's resolutions met with their usual success and longevity (i.e. none). It's a fab console, but it's very ease of "pick up and play" makes it just as easy to ignore in favour of other pursuits. However, we were intrigued by the promise and novelty of the new Wii MotionPlus gadget, and when Wii Sports Resort (WSR) - essentially Wii Sports 2 - was announced, it was immediately added to ... This game is fantastic. Is is better tahn the original wii sports as the sports included are ones that you would not tend to play in everyday life. For example you can take part in canoe races, fencing, cycling etc. The funniest game is canoe racing, it gets very competive and is a really good work out at the same time. I think that the price is good compared to other wii games becuase it is many games in one and not just a single sport. It allows you to try everyhting without buying multiple games. If they start bringing out accessories for this game like a canoe paddle or fencing stick I would not waste your money because the ones for oter games are just plastic wastes ... Having played many Wii games over the last few years, I have always found myself coming back to Wii Sports whenever I want to play with friends. In many ways, Wii Sports Resort is just more of the same, however in my opinion this is what makes it so much fun to play - the games are all easy to pick up and do not take too long to play, meaning everybody can have a turn. It isn't the sort of game I could see myself playing on my own too much, whilst there are the stamps to collect for obtaining certain scores etc to give you something to aim for in single player mode, this game is really best with two motion plus controllers. My favourite game is basketball, 3 ... Read the complete review
