Advantages: Challenging, fun, addictive, all ages
Disadvantages: None
Fun for all the family. This really is a game that 8 to 80 year olds can play. We got this game as part of the package when we bought our Nintendo Wii and it has been great. On Easter day we had a bowling tournament with 8 people, including my nephews and their grandmother and she beat us all!
Wii sports has 5 games you can choose from, tennis, baseball, bowling, golf and boxing. It also offers to challenge modes, Wii training where you basically do as the name suggest train in the different games so you can become an expert. For example, the tennis training allows you to practice you swing and returning of the ball to get you up to speed when you play an actual game.
The other challenge mode is Wii fitness which tests your speed, stamina and strength to detemine your Wii fitness age. This becomes addicting because the more you play, you can lower your age so you want to keep coming back for more!
We find this game has been perfect entertainment when people come round for dinner, we actually have people inviting themselves over so they can play.
In each different game have the ability to score points if you win. For example in the bowling you collect your points until you reach 1,000, at which point you get a new shiny bowling ball and you become a pro in the game! The points are stored so you don't lose them when you turn off the game and it makes it more fun to see who can get the most points.
I think the bowling is by far the best game. Here's a little trick. When you are ready to bowl push the forward button so you get an upclose view of the pins. Then you can manouever you pointer to where you need it. Try going two clisk to the right or just inbetween the first and second pin and then bowling. My husband does this everytime and last time we played he got 9 strikes in a row and then 9 pins down on the last throw. It would be interesting to see if anybody has gotten 10 strikes?!
The baseball game is probably the hardest and definitely the least played in our house.
The tennis is fun, very realistic and to hit the ball you swing your arm/Wii remote like you would when you play normal tennis. If you want to get the ball to go superspeed when you serve try a little up and down flick of the wrist, that usually works.
The graphics aren't great on the Nintedo Wii but that is not why we play it, it is the participation value and the sheer entertainment value. All in all an excellent game and it will keep you fit too!!
Summary: Wii sports - a challenging game for the whole family!
