As the game that usually comes packaged with the Nintendo Wii, this is more than likely going to be the first game anyone plays on their new console and Nintendo have to be congratulated on such a fine idea. As a console creator, you are going to want the user to be impressed from the word go and this does just that. Essentially, Wii Sports could be accused as being a Wii remote demo, but it is so much more than that. I have had the Wii for 18 months and I still keep coming back to Wii Sports. The disc comprises of Baseball, Golf, Boxing, Ten Pin Bowling and Tennis, the latter three being the big players in this game. Golf and Baseball are OK, but are a little hit and miss with the remote, but that is all forgotten when you are bowling strikes with a flick of the wrist at the last minute putting just the right amount of spin on the ball. Tennis is pure fun and playability and boxing gets you the workout that you didn't think was possible in a video game. The neat fitness test facility works well too. A great game.
