Without him the current mass of books about Ancient and Ante-deluvian civilisations would not exist. he is,single handedly responsible for the awareness that now exists regards Lost and Sophisticated Civilisations. Yes, I agree that some of his theories seem to be based upon fantasy, but, on the other hand, no person has been able, as yet, to come forward and offer incontrovertable proof that his theories are indeed fantasy or disprove them. Chariots of the Gods is Erich von Danikens study of spacemen and their vehicles. Von Daniken was educated at St Michaels College in Fribourg, Switzerland. He always had an urge to find out the true origins of mankind. He began to question all previous explanations and researched the Bible (particularly Ezekiel), old relics of Mayan and Inca civilization. He also studied cave drawings in North Africa. He published Chariots of the Gods in 1968 and his theory that earth has been visited by astronauts from snother splar system became very popular. An interesting read but watch how Von Daniken makes the evidence fit his theory! ... Read the complete review
