Although aimed mainly at advanced learners or professional users such as translators, I would recommend this dictionary to any serious learner of the French language, partly because of the informative central section, but also because it will show you the correct word to use where there are several possibilities. For those studying French at GCSE standard or higher this is a must-have dictionary. It not only gives you the translation of thousands words, but each word has several phrases and sentences, which include the word in it, eg: if you look up the word 'rubbish', it gives you the French for sentences such as 'this shop sells a lot of rubbish'. It also gives you the French for other words linked to 'rubbish' such as 'household rubbish'. There is also a section called 'Language In Use', which gives the French for sentences on subjects such as opinions, explanations, job applications, apologies etc. You get a free CD-ROM with ...  Read the complete review
