      A great ladies book!

I am very much a self help book kind of gal. I like books on natural remedies and things that can help me with life as I believe there is more to health than simply conventional medicine.

When I spotted this book in a local charity shop for a pound I was instantly drawn to it because of the title but mainly because the cover of this large book is so pretty to look at to be honest! Its a light pinky toned cover with a picture of a reddish coloured tulip on the front and simply very nice to look at and very feminine and calming.

This book should retail at its full price of £9.99 however I paid a pound for my copy to which I think I got a very good deal and am still pleased with it to this day and I've owned it a good while now and very familiar with it lol!

The book is written by Rosamond Richardson and it contains a hefty 208 pages. All the pages are well laid out and although a very informative book its the kind of book with its easy to find different sections and is broken up with drawings and photographs and I can quite simply dip in and out of this book rather than sit and read it front to back type of thing.

It is of course broken up into sections which are easy to find thanks to the stand out headings and the content list to the front of the book. This is a book aimed at women written by a woman with the idea to make our lives more pleasant, easier and to get us more organised and happy....inside and out!

      The sections are as follows:

A natural home is the first section to which we look at organising the home, clearing out clutter, choosing colours for the home and lighting then the next section is looking at balancing relationships and work which looks at create calm and not chaos and even talks about setting yourself up working from home. The next section is all about time for yourself and about treating yourself nicely and ideas on how to reward yourself. The next sextion is all about trying to survive stress and looking at what stresses us out and how to try to combat issues which is then nicely followed but a stretch, relax & exercise section where we are told and shown the ideal posture and how to breath and so on. The next section is about yoga, again showing us through diagrams quite a few moves with a plan a day and then the following two sections are about eating well, food combining and natural supplements that may help us ladies with the daily grind and a natural health and vitality section which continues to look at natural remedies as well as a lifestyle check. Then there is a pure and simple beauty care section where we are given advice on looking after our skin, hands, feet and so on and then the end of the book ends on a soul section and gives us ideas on meditation and centering ourselves

      My Verdict:

What I really do like about this book is that even though it is now 13 years old it looks and sounds a modern book. I believe this can be a confidence booster for any woman. We all get bogged down from time to time whether we're married or single, without kids or with, working or not.....we can still feel like we have a lot on our plates. What I found with this book is its mainly advice and solid advice at that on being organised in a postitive way. This isn't a patronising book and each section flows nicely into the next. Some stuff you will already know, lots you probably won't.

There are lots of little sections with questions in them to ponder on such as what sort of person are you and questions to answer and by the end of this book I did feel I knew and understood myself a little better.

The yoga and breathing exercises are really for beginners and the diagrams very well done and I can do it! There are plenty of easy to do beauty recipes in here too and advice basically on getting a calmer life and the photographs are uplifting and break the book up nicely.

All in all I really do like this lovely book. I didn't want a basic reading book to which I already knew about everything in it already and with this I have managed to become a bit more centrered and calmer in my life. I leave this out on my coffee table and found plenty of people drawn to it (male or female!) that have flicked through it and commented about how good it is!

Thumbs up from me I really do like this one and its a keeper in my collection!

Available on Amazon and in other good bookshops and from online retailers.
