A good introduction would suit a visual learner

This is a big Text book at 552 pages.
Packed full of pictures and things which do help someone new to a MAC computer get to grips with everthing.
Although if I am honest a bit unsure as if the publishers have the right title. But more about this is a while.
First the good points. Everthing is well explained in this book.
There are some useful illustrations and good hints/tips for users on a Mac OS system. This book would be good value for someone just starting out with a Mac computer, as I am really. This book would suit well a visual learning there are so many pictures to help the learning process. I found myself popping the book open and following the instructions. The pictures helped me find the right keys - so this is great. The colours are good type face good and clear. In this respects I am impressed.

Down points not many but important.

I am a little unsure just what this book is trying to be.
Having used a Mac computer at work for a while I have been considering replacing my Windows PC with a Mac Pro (rather expensive so wanted to read up about it first). I obtained this book as the by reading the title and the cover made me think that this was a book all about new Mac Pro.
Which actually it turns out not to be.

A load of this book give helpful information on the new Mac OS, Mavericks. Useful in it's self.

I would suggest that the publishers consider changing the title to reflect what the book does discuss.
      Pleased with this purchase.
