James Redfield’s “The Celestine Prophecy – An Adventure” is not an adventure, in fact, it is a book in which practically nothing happens, and if you are expecting an “Indiana Jones” type of action quest, as the synopsis vaguely suggests, look elsewhere! The Celestine Prophecy is fiction – and very poor fiction at that. After several people had mentioned it to me and having read a persuasive review on dooyoo I decided to read this popular book. All I can say is that I’m glad I bought a cheap secondhand copy and I’m glad I’ve read it because I can warn others off it. Had it been written by the hand of a reasonably accomplished writer who had bothered to do the slightest bit of research the book might have been worth reading.
