Also disturbing, is that EVERY person he meets seems to already know about the "insights" Manuscript, but he somehow has been singled out by authorities as worthy of capture...and this is before he even comes across the knowledge contained in the second insight. He knows virtually nothing yet, and is a threat to the government? And lastly, his "knowledge" is sequentially gained through hearing second-hand account...more

Have you ever had an experience where some-ones name pops into your head and the next thing they are on the phone to you or you bump into them in the street. Have you ever been presented with a set of circumstances, which you have dismissed as a coincidence but that left you with a bit of nagging doubt… If you have then you may be interested in “The Celestine Prophecy”, a book which claims to show that what we dismiss as coincidence is actually the very deliberate catalyst of a process that will allow us to take control of, and develop, our lives, as long as we allow ourselves to become receptive to this process. Eh? Ok let me ...  Read the complete review

James Redfield’s “The Celestine Prophecy – An Adventure” is not an adventure, in fact, it is a book in which practically nothing happens, and if you are expecting an “Indiana Jones” type of action quest, as the synopsis vaguely suggests, look elsewhere! In an attempt to merge the philosophies of Scientology, the works of Paulo Coelho and Richard Bach, and some advice from Anthony Robbins, Redfield manages to create a work of fiction which is monotonous and tiresome at best. Far from the life-changing revelation (I assume) he intended to write, “The Celestine Prophecy” is a rather mundane look into what are ...  Read the complete review

What do you reckon? Is a coincidence just a coincidence, or is there something a bit more to it than this? Say you had a feeling, or a hunch, to go somewhere and you went. When you got there you met a long lost friend, someone you hadn't seen for years and years. Would that be a coincidence - or are there higher aspects of the mind at work? Suppose you open a dictionary and hit exactly the right page for the word you are looking for or, perhaps, one morning you are unable to get your normal newspaper but in another one, you bought instead, is the answer to the very question you've been pondering over the last few days. Would these simply be ...  Read the complete review

The Celestine Prophecy is fiction – and very poor fiction at that. After several people had mentioned it to me and having read a persuasive review on dooyoo I decided to read this popular book. All I can say is that I’m glad I bought a cheap secondhand copy and I’m glad I’ve read it because I can warn others off it. Had it been written by the hand of a reasonably accomplished writer who had bothered to do the slightest bit of research the book might have been worth reading. Unfortunately, however, Redfield does not possess any literary skill whatsoever and one wonders indeed if he has any skill at all apart from the ability to fleece the ...  Read the complete review

Are you in search for a spiritual journey?.. And even if not..is book COULD be for YOU. I can in contact with a women who believes in a lot spirituality and I was going though a phrase where I didn't know where I was going in life. I had no goals, I was incredibly lonely and I felt I needed some guidance. I do believe that as well as our body and mind, we have a soul. This soul, like our bodies and minds needs to be looked after, exercised and expanded. This book gave me all that.. and more. Celestine Prophecy is a non fictional book about a man who follows his heart and goes to Peru to find a manuscript. This manuscript had 9 Insights and each ...  Read the complete review
