      Very helpful

It is quite hard to diagnose illness and injuries in pet cats. When Hiendi my black and white male cat ,came home with a lacerated paw ,I thought he had a stomach ailment he was making a howling noise . It wasnt until the next morning that i noticed his swollen paw . The trouble is they cant talk ,so you have to be observant if the trouble isnt obvious. I do use a vet if I cant cope with whatever is wrong, and cats are prone to get into difficulties, especially if they are involved in a fight . You & your Cat has been a helpful book ,it not only tells you about many pionts of interest about different breeds of Cat,it also has a trouble shooting section,to help you the owner to know what might be wrong,I usually read through and use a process of looking to see what each symptom might mean, and whether I can cope or whether it really needs a vet. For example page 217 :under ,looking off colour. It has an arrow on the page with : START HERE:then little boxes first one {is your cat vomiting}->YES-> ->has he got diarrheoa ;yES ->see chartp219. Each symptom as you go down the page ,you are directed to the pages that deal with what this symptom could mean. You have alerts to show if it is serious:with Dont delay consult a vetat the side. If there is improvement after 24 hours it re-assures you it was just a minor infection. It shows you how to take your pets temperature ,and pulse ,very helpful in determining how ill they are. There are many sections in this book, including how to breed cats ,and how to help them to feed ,wean ,and how to prepare for birth . Also Kitten growth and developement, what to feed your kitten when weaned. I have been present at 2 births ,one was easy ,and one was pretty hair raising, but having this book was a great help. I do use Homeopathy personally ,and books like this help me to deal with a lot of cat ailments myself. This book also has many diagrams on cat anatomy, and some lovely cat pictures of different breeds . It also has a section on proffessional breeding:....to be cont
