Advantages: Very festive and at a great price.
Disadvantages: USB ports 2.0 required.
~ Overview ~
Now I know it isn't quite Christmas time yet but I thought I would start early, why not all the shops are stocking their shelves with Christmas goodies and continues to get earlier and earlier.
This little ball of ice is quite cute and comes with in very Christmassy colours, red and white. Basically you plug him into a USB port on your PC/Laptop (USB 2.0 ports only) and he lights up like a Christmas tree with lots of different colours (see how I did that? Using the Christmas puns). I remember when we used to have candles and now its plug and play lights, we have come a long way in a short space of time, but still a great novelty item for your desktop.
~ Price and shop ~
I bought my snowman last year to cheer me up when im surfing the internet but I don't really need it now I have found Dooyoo. The price I paid was £5 from Amazon but I see now it is actually £5.45 which is only a small increase (inflation they will tell you). They are normally in stock as only simple minded chaps like me buy them! The postage is around £4 which is quite expensive but still I have Amazon vouchers to use up so I bought it.
Tip: I do know that you can now buy this item from NoFrillz website which sells it for around £4 with no postage and packaging costs.
~ Design ~
The USB snowman has a white body with an icy look (think of a milk bottle with a scarf and your half way there), and comes with a red and white scarf along with three red buttons and a face which looks like it has fitted with coal eyes and mouth. The snowman has a stern white base which can support quite a bit of weight so you have no worry of it falling on the floor and "burning the house down". My gran always thinks that if you leave electrical items on it will burn your house down.
~ Other similar items ~
Well I have the fairy lights along with the Christmas tree so this was a great addition to my collection of Christmas decorations rubbish but cheers me up anyway. If you search on Amazon you will find these alternative novelty items and at a relatively cheap price.
~ Glow Test ~
The lights produced from the snowman are varied and are quite relaxing to watch fade in and out. There are no switches to change the frequency of the lights or colours and no on/off switch but all you need to do is unplug the snowman from your USB port and it will cease to function.
~ In my opinion...~
In my opinion this is a must buy for all you gadget geeks like myself and those who like decorate their houses in so many Christmas lights that you can be seen from space. For the price this is a nice addition to your Christmas decoration collection and is a good quality product which will do its job year after year.
This is a lovely novelty item which gives your desktop a nice festival look and great when writing Dooyoo reviews on your PC.
