Advantages: Look good and the kids love them

Disadvantages: Over priced and tiny

Moshi monsters seem to have came in all of a sudden and my daughter, all her friends and my little cousin seem to be totally obsessed with these little characters which I had never heard of. Usually when my daughter takes a liking to something it tends to be from a film or a cartoon however I've never seen this on TV so I have no idea how she heard of these particular characters. Where ever she found out about them has started a craze that seems to spread from children ages 6 up to 11.

I later found out that Moshi monsters is an online game which my daughter had been playing down her nanas house and slowly became rather addicted to it. On this game children can chose a pet and look after it as well as interact it with others. This game is apparently so popular that there is a wide array of characters, games, cards, stickers and collectables available to purchase.

On a recent sleepover my daughters friend had brought her limited edition moshlings with her and my daughter was gutted that she didn't have some as they were apparently so cool. On a recent trip to Smyth's toy store there they were on the shelf priced at £9.99 looking rather attractive in a gold metal tin. We bought them and I couldn't believe it when I got home and opened them.

The tin consists of 8 characters:

Oddie
Mini ben
Jeepers
Shi shi
Honey
Sookie yaki
Fifi
Rocky

All of the characters are tiny inside and placed in a plastic compartment that fills the tin. They look rather fetching as they are all gold in colour but when the compartment is taken out the tin is very bare. My daughter absolutely loves these figures but I think for the money they seem very highly priced as there seem to be nothing to them. So far they have been used in my daughter's small houses and they have been used a lot. From a mothers point of view they are overpriced with not much to them since they are too small but from a 6 year old girls point they are the best things since sliced bread.

Summary: From a kids point of view these are a must for moshi lovers
