Advantages: looks pretty in the kitchen
Disadvantages: very hard to use, could be frustrating for kids, messy
Ok call me an overgrown kid.....but I've just bought a Mr Frosty after wanting one for years and years and years..and I think it's a disappointing rip-off. Mr Frosty is an ice shaver/crusher in the shape of a large snowman. You remove his hat and put ice cubes in his head. You then put the hat back on and turn the lever on his back around to crush the ice up. The crushed ice then falls into a container in his tummy, which you pull out. at least that's what's _supposed_ to happen! In reality you have to break your arm just to get a little bit of crushed ice! It is _tremendously_ difficult to grind the cubes up. I really don't see how kids are expected to do it. I think it could end in a lot of tears and frustration. Then the crushed ice has the annoying tendency to melt almost as soon as you've made it, ruining all your hard-pressed efforts. Mr Frosty comes with some nice additional accessories - two bowls, two spoons, two ice-cube trays which make ice cubes in the shapes of fruits, and a penguin juice bottle. But these still don't justify the price amount. the only thing that Mr Frosty manages to crush is your dreams of nice slush-puppy type drinks. Save yourself the money and don't bother with this.

- 29/12/02 We received a gift of Mr. Frosty for Christmas, and I am extremely disappointed with it. My son (3) is unable to crush Ice using Mr Frosty, so I had to intervene, and the handle broke off! (Just before my arm!)
I would definitely not recommend this product. |

- 24/07/01 I also bought mine as an adult after wanting one as a child and think it's alright really. After all it's a toy so they couldn't put in blades which were too sharp.
