When my son was born we were given several money boxes as presents and the Hungry Caterpillar one as my favourites as it invoked my own childhood memories Now that my son is 2.5 years old, he very much enjoys putting his coppers in the money box for me to take to the bank at a later date.
The money box can be purchased from Amazon for £8.52, plus £2.25 p&p. The money box is 10cm in height and is made of white ceramic. The money box comes in a keepsake box that you can put the money box in, and on the front of the box is a little wobbly caterpillar, this now has a few baby keepsakes inside as it was a shame to not use it.

The money box has a picture of the hungry caterpillar on the front and on the top of the money box is a picture of the sun from the Hungry Caterpillar book along with the slit for posting money through, this takes all UK dominations except £2 coins.

At the bottom of the money box is the stopper to keep the money inside, this is made of flexible white rubber and is very easy to take off, my son will just turn the money box upside down, push the stopper and then shakes his money out so we can count it and fill the money box up again. Overall this has proved to be a lovely and useful gift as my son enjoys putting money in it and it is also helping him recognise numbers and different types of coins, it is lovely to look at and so far has proved to be very sturdy from all the shaking to release the money.

I would recommend this to others for the above reasons and the fact that it is well priced in my opinion.
