“ Manufacturer: Suck UK / Type: Door Hanger „
A few people I know must have some kind of sponsorship deal going on with overpriced novelty item merchants Suck UK, because I seem to keep getting a variety Suck UK objects presented to me as gifts nowadays. The ambigram door hanger is a very simply designed item that cant have cos much to manufacture, consisting as it does as a simple flat piece of thick, spray-painted plastic with dimensions of around 30cm by 15cm and with two doorhandle-shaped notches cut near the top and bottom at either end. One side reads 'Go Away' whilst the other reads 'Please come in!', both in a red flowery script that closely resembles the Coca-Cola lettering, the idea of course being that the user can flip the door hanger to whatever message they wish to display, depending upon their mood. Clearly then, its a rather uninspired little novelty item aimed primarily at students and petulant teenagers, and makes for an extremely desperate stocking-filler or last-minute birthday present.
the plastic is durable and unlikely to break or chip should the hanger fall from its position, and the text is clearly decipherable and bold, with there also being some little flowery border designs on the tp right and bottom left hand corners, but with the object overall having a very minimalist design that means that it will blend in with the majority of domestic settings. Overall its a very recommendable product, or at least it would be, were it not for the frankly ourageous price being asked by amazon of a little over £7, as this item is something you would expect to pick up in the pound shop. A mark up of over 700% is just not acceptable for an item of this nature, and you would be well advised to pay a visit to poundland, Wilkinsons or the like before thwowing away your money on this attractive, well made yet scandalously priced little item.
