      Advantages

      Disadvantages

If you love owls and have money to spare, go for it. Otherwise, avoid.

USB ports have myriad useful applications, you can upload photographs to your PC, connect peripherals or even charge electronic devices. On the other hand, if you have a few spare, you can use them to power USB desk ornaments.

Why you'd want something clicking, tweeting or sparkling on your desk while you're trying to work is anybody's guess, but this toy looks genuinely cute, and I was happy to recieve it as a gift.

Probably the main thing to beware of with this is that it doesn't do very much at all. The promotional pictures for it show it flapping its wings, but it does not do this (although they are poseable). When plugged into a USB port it waggles its head and blinks at random intervals. If it weren't for the (fairly substantial) noise it makes when it moves, you probably wouldn't notice it.

If you love owls, have a spare USB port and are not easily distracted, this is perfect for you, but it's still very expensive for what it is.

With a clip that allows him to perch on top of computer monitors, as well as an optional tree-stump that he can sit on, the USB Owl from Thumbs Up will blink sagely as he provides inspiration and watches over your work. He'll also move his eyes around and rotate his head as if he's either appreciating or rolling his eyes at your office antics.
