Tobar Squishy Mesh Ball
Advantages: It is fun to squeeze and play with
Disadvantages: Some might find it boring after a short period
I love gadgets but I love anything which I have not really seen before. In Hawkins Bazaar I saw at the till this rather funny item which when squeezed somehow made me chuckle.
The item was named Squishy Mesh ball and the idea is you have this gel filled rubber ball and it is quite soft to the touch and around the outside is a black mesh net.
This net has many holes and is tied at the bottom and the idea is that when you squeeze the ball tightly the gel inside the ball pops out the little holes in the net to make mini balls.
These mini balls are usually pretty solid to the touch and seem to create many different shapes and configurations.
The harder you squeeze the more balls pop out the holes in the net and the looser the grip the less amount of balls appear.
It sounds quite obvious to most people what this item does from the picture alone but the reason I got it was for my own amusement. I tend to use this as a stress ball where I just squeeze tightly when I am in a bad mood.
Just the other day I had some bad news and I needed something or someone to yell at and I just saw my mesh ball and I just squeezed it as hard as I could and for some reason that anger disappeared.
The other point to this item was the fact that mine is dark purple yet when squeezed the item changed colour to this lighter shade of purple and for some reason an odd blue colour can appear on some of the balls which come through the net.
The item comes in many different colours as well. I have seen the ball in green and blue and the idea is the same with them all. I once did cut the net and tried to do my own design but this never worked out that well.
I have never seen the ball come close to tearing apart like some people might expect it to with constant
pressure. The ball is very cheap also costing me just £2 and I found that cheap for what it offers.
It is a novelty item which can be used as a stocking filler and you can have plenty of laughs with it because you can create various scenarios with it. I use it mainly as a stress ball but other people might find other usages for it.
I would say this item is perfect for any gender and anyone above a certain age due to the net could be a problem for younger children. I guarantee once you try this in a store you want to keep on pressing it as hard as you can mainly due to curiosity and hoping it will erupt, sadly this never seems likely to happen.
