Awhile back I read a review here on a Thomas the Tank step stool for potty training and asked my husband to get us one. As it happened, Mothercare was out so he went to see what Toys R Us had available and came home with this. The duck step stool is just a very plain white plastic step stool with a rubber ring around the bottom, presumably to prevent it from slipping, molded in bumps on the surface for traction and a small yellow duck decal. OK It is not nearly as cute as the Thomas the Tank step stool, but at only £3, it was almost £7 cheaper. For the price of this item I am very happy with it. It is strong enough to support my weight should I need help reaching anything upstairs, relatively easy to clean, and most importantly, very useful for my son. This step stool allows my 2 year old to reach the sink so he an wash his hands on his own, makes brushing his teeth easier, and best of all really helps him with the toilet. In fact in the 3 months since I bought this, I have not changed 1 dirty nappy at home. He was never as fond of his plastic potty, and sometimes would ask to be lifted to the big toilet, but since this was bought he just goes up the stairs, does what he needs to, flushes and washed his hands. For all that I am well pleased to have spent £3! Unfortunately, it has not completely potty trained him as he will still wet at times, but at least I have no more dirty nappies to wash out ( I use cloth nappies). This item gets a full 5 stars from me. True it is not the cutest step stool, but it is nice enough and serves it purpose well at a bargain price. I would highly recommend this to any parents of toddlers, both for potty training and to reach the bathroom sink.
