Advantages: nice keepsake,

Disadvantages: really hard to do, really hard to keep baby still, bag supplied is flimsy

The first time i saw these i just had to buy one, i have twins myself and im really into keepsakes etc and do them a scrapbook to look back on so this was perfect to show them just how tiny they were and would have looked lovely on the wall.

I bought it from ebay and think i paid around £30 for it which provided us with a photo frame and enough casting things for around 8 casts, which i knew would give us plenty of chances to get it wrong.

I tried doing this with my partner, read the instructions full and got the babies undressed so we could bath them straight away after. We managed ok doing thier hands although they did cry when we was trying to keep their hands still and it is a long time to wait for it to set when you have a baby in your arms who just wants to go. Just to add they were about 3 months when we tried this.

The casts are ok the first one we did was great, and the 2nd one isnt bad but she pulled some of the mould out in her hand. We then tried their feet and had no chance they just screamed as you have to use cold water for it to work.

A plastic bag is provided which your supposed to be able to pour the solution in then put babies hand or foot in, we found this really flimsy so found a little tub/cup that could do the same job but you have to make sure they arent touching the sides of the bag/container as it doesnt work properly.

It is really hard to get right i would advise if you hjave somewhere local thta do things like this pay for a professional to do it.

I dont think i would attempt it again.

Summary: Really nicek eepsake if you can do it. I would recommend a professional do it
