Advantages: remote controlled, 3 melodies and a volume control

Disadvantages: straps fiddly to put on

Having a 10 month old who HAS to pull every thing at sight + the fact that my old mobile was the old-fashioned wind up type (and only played for 2-3 minutes) I decided that time had come to buy a new musical thing for my girls to go to sleep with (the eldest not willing to let the mobile play in the corner not on the baby's bed <g>)
I was recommended the Tomy Beam-a-Dream by a friend and I must say I am very satisfied with it. IT plays 3 different melodies and has a light show that projects up to your ceiling (and a focus dial to get as "clear" a picture as possible) On the actual box is a teddy bear "dancing" to the music. Both my girls adored it and happily went to bed watching the light, listening to the music. The music plays for 20 mins the lightshow for 10 mins. And added bonus is the remote control that makes it possible for you to put it back on without having to go back into the room should baby be just about asleep.
The Dreamshow comes with straps to strap it onto a cot, I must admit that I found this a little more difficult to do than I had thought it would be and it will not be something that I will be moving around a lot. Also having put it onto the side of my 10 month's old cot and she started playing with it, it would hit against the sides switching the mode button on and off making the music disappear a few times. (I moved it so she can see it but not reach it)

The music is not annoying and you can change the melody from the remote should you get tired of listening to the same one over and over again. IT also has a volume adjuster (wonderful idea) and 3 modes 1 beam-a-dream light show and music 2 music only and 3 stand-by, On standby you can switch it on from the remote should you not wish to use the standby there is also a on off switch. Also as a added bonus my 2.5 year old can operate this on her own so does no longer need to scream for mummy every 3 mins so she can come up and wind up the music ag
ain.

A great buy something that I would reccommend. Uses 6 batteries (4 D and 2AAA)

Just to say I don't think the mobile you are writing about is the one in the picture, as thats what we have and it doesn't work through a remote control. Don't know if dooyoo have used the wrong picture, but the mobile in the picture shown works by winding up the blue button on the right hand side!
