“ Brand: Fisher Price / Type: Mobiles „
When it comes to toys I am always on the lookout for something that does a bit of everything and when I was in my local TK Maxx I came across a Fisher Price Mini Farmyard Mobile reduced down from £11.99 to £4.00 and decided to purchase it for my son.
~*~What is the Musical Mini Mobile~*~
The musical mini mobile is suitable from 0+ months and the largest part is a quilted soft barn containing the image of a cow in the middle and hanging freely from the barn shape is a pink pig, yellow chicken and a blue horse.
To the top of the toy is a large blue ring that can be linked onto a pram, car seat or even the metal part of a headrest in a car for the toy to be used.
The 3 animals are referred to as teethable friends which is ideal when baby is teething and needs something to gnaw on. When the middle toy is pulled then this activates the sounds for the baby.
I have to say that it does have to be tugged quite hard to activate the sound and it is a struggle for a younger child to do this on their own. Once pulled the toy will make an animal noise and then launch into a short version of Old McDonald.
The toy makes a cow, pig, horse and chicken sound which is ideal to get baby used to sounds that the animals make so it goes on to be a good teaching toy as well as you can teach baby the Old McDonald nursery rhyme.
The mobile operates on small batteries which in time will need to be replaced. This can be done by removing from the quilted barn and unscrewing the panel to reveal the old batteries and replace with the new.
The toy then has to be fastened back up in order to prevent any small items from appearing that could cause a choking hazard.
The size of the toy is 6.5 x 1.2 x 9" so it is a handy toy to carry around with your child.
I found that the toy keeps the baby entertained with the sounds and the different textures in the toy and it really helps the baby develop his grasp as the animals are perfect for tiny hands.
My only disappointment with the toy is that it is difficult for a child to operate alone as the middle toy takes quite a bit of tugging to activate and I find that most of the time myself or my husband have to help activate the toy, but the baby really loves the soft barn and the little toys that dangle freely over his car seat handle.
The clip to attach to the car seat is pretty robust but there have been times I have felt that the strain might be too much and it could snap and it has prevented me from using on certain toys that have slightly wider handles etc but overall it is a great toy that keeps baby intrigued.
