Advantages: Easy to use, easy to clean, light comfortable
Disadvantages: The dangly toys could be brighter colours
I was bought this chair as a gift from my colleagues at work when I left to start my maternity leave and its possibly one of my best baby buys due to the sheer amount of use we got out of it.
PRODUCT INFORMATION - The chair is suitable from birth onwards and converts into a toddler rocker. Using a switch at the front you can turn on the chair vibration designed to settle your baby or you can also rock the chair yourself, there is a removable toy bar from which three colourful toys dangle (a mirror, a bird and a flower), you can alter the position of the back of the seat to suit the age of the baby and can also alter the whole position of the seat by pulling out a sort of stand at the bottom front of the chair which stabilises the chair from rocking and can make it lie flat. The seat cover is removable and machine washable. Max weight is 18kg and it requires 2 button cell batteries which are included plus 1 x D battery which isn't.
OUR OPINIONS - This chair was invaluable, I used it from when my daughter was born, the vibration was just right for settling her while I got on with things, it was strong enough for her to feel it but not too strong and it was also very quiet, just a gentle hum could be heard in a quiet room. As she became more aware of her surroundings I could slightly raise the back and she would be kept amused by trying to swipe and the dangling toys even during her 'grumpiest' part of the day when I was cooking dinner, I would often pop her in it while I got on something and just carry her round with me from to room as the chair was nice and light. I really got use out of the chair during weaning as she looked too small and uncomfortable in her high chair and as she was already familiar with this chair it made sense not to introduce too many new things at once and to save the highchair for a little later when she had got the hang of things, at this point the removable cover became really handy-its amazing how much mess we managed to make and the cover was really easy to remove and to clip back on again afterwards. The cover itself also washed really well as sometimes it was washed nearly every day but there was no colour fading or wear in the material. I was also impressed with the stand at the front of the chair to lie it back completely this was really easy to use and could be done with one hand or even a foot while holding a sleeping baby. I often put this in the boot of the car and took it with me when visiting friends and relatives and used it both inside and outside at BBQ's and things. My daughter always looked comfortable in this chair and would quite often be playing in it one minute and fast asleep the next.
OUR VERDICT - I would definitely recommend this chair in fact my sister went out and bought one even though she already had a bouncy chair for her baby but after visiting and using my chair she said her little one settled so much better in mine. They are more expensive than some of the other baby chairs rockers but really are value for money, as they last so well mine is still going strong my two and a half year old still uses her s as a toddler seat to have a snack or read a book and as for my sister's, baby number 2 is now using it.
PRICE INFORMATION - Mine cost around £45 but they are currently have £9 off in Argos and are available for £37.59, I have also seen them in Mothercare and on many other websites stocking nursery equipment.
Summary: Perfect!!!
