Advantages: Looks fantastic and supposed to go up to 40lb

Disadvantages: The back could do with being that little bit sturdier

There are some lovely baby bouncers and chairs on the market today, but not many that can labe used for a few years. We were given a really expensive baby bouncer when my eldest was born- but the majority of them only last for about six months- or until a child can sit up unaided, which is how we came to purchase the newborn to toddler rocker.

They normally retail for about £64.99. We purchased ours from Argos, although it's largely available in large children and baby stockists.

One of the things which attracted us to this chair, were its bright bright colours. Fisher-Price recently altered the pattern of this chair (it now has more patterns on and pictures of zoo animals)- although the structure has remained the same. The design we have has a bright green frame, with a light blue cover that has a big picture of a lion on it. The cover is machine washable-it just unclips.

The legs are adjustable, so that it can be adjusted from an infant seat to a toddler rocker. The chair has been designed from birth, up until 18kg/40 lbs (although my daughter is 19 months old and refuses point blank to sit in it now). The chair has safety straps, so that children cannot escape.

The Fisher-Price rocker also has a removable toy bar with three detachable toys, which you just clip on or off. The toy bar can be left on the chair, or moved to one side if preffered.

Another advantage of this chair is that it vibrates, so that children can be soothed to sleep. For this feature, it requires 1 x D battery. It also uses 2 x button-cell batteries for the toy bar (although the cell batteries are included when purchased).

This rocker is easy to transport as it has a built in handle.

I would recommend this chair- although I'm not sure I will get away with using this chair till my daughter is 40lb. She is 23lb now and she tries to escape everytime I attempt to put her in it. I do feel that the back could be that little bit sturdier in order to prevent elder children from trying to escape. You almost feel like if they tried hard enough, the back would snap off- but that's just my personal opinion.

This chair was out of stock when we tried purchasing it for my second daughter, so we purchased the Fisher-Price Deluxe Infant to Toddler Comfort Rocker. Ten pounds cheaper- and in my opinion a lot sturdier!

Summary: Ticks all the right boxes except for the back of the chair
