When our little man was smaller we used to cart his moses basket around everywhere as it was guaranteed that as soon as we arrived at my mum's he'd be ready for a nap. He's just under 6 months old now and in his "big boy" cot but still needs his naps when we're visiting people. He no longer fits in his teeny little moses basket so we needed to look for something that could replace it.

Graco is a brand I trust for making good quality baby items, and we have a few of their products, including a highchair, so when we saw this travel cot we knew it would be of goof quality. We bought our Graco Travel Cot from Argos for just less than £50. They do make one that has a bassinette on the top for newborns but ours is just your bog standard average one. It's relatively easy to assemble and it folds down flat into it's own little bag which makes it easy to carry and great for if you're travelling. The boot on my car is tiny but it fits in easily when folded away and is lightweight enough for me to carry it on my own.

It is a decent size when assembled, big enough so they don't feel trapped and have enough room to play, without being so big it takes over the whole living room. Ours is turquoise and has mesh sides so he can still see the outside world. The mattress is thin but soft, but it is a bit lumpy and doesn't look the comfiest thing in the world to sleep on. Having said this, it doesn't seem to bother our little man.

As I said earlier, our "little" one is now approaching 6 months and has just learnt to shuffle backwards and is trying his hardest to crawl forward. Even though he hasn't mastered this yet he can get around the room quite easily going backwards, meaning that I can't leave him alone for a second. That's why this travel cot is so great, it can also double up as a play pen. I don't like to leave him in there too long as I prefer just to get on the floor with him to entertain him but that's not always possible when I need to nip out of the room or do housework. I was always told not to just pop him in their cot as their cot should always be associated with sleep and not play so I've always avoided doing it. it's obviously worked as he sleeps 12 hours a night!

Like I say, I don't leave him in there for long but he seems quite happy in there as long as he's got something in there to entertain him. It's always wipe clean which is a godsend as he seems to have a great knack of making everything look grubby!

Safety-wise there's no sharp edges on the travel cot for them to catch themselves on, nor is there a way they can escape (believe me, if there was my son would find it!) It also complies with all the recommended safety standards.

All in all it's a good little travel cot / play pen, for a decent price.

Advantages -

- Sturdy
- Wipe clean
- Safe
- Folds away for easy storage and travel

Disadvantages

- mattress doesn't look overly comfy

Summary: Great for keeping little ones safe

My sister, when she was a baby,(a few decades ago) she used to shuffle backwards. She is the only baby I have known do that - until now.
Lovely review.
