“ Brand: Hauck / Type: Travel Cots „
We picked up our Hauck Dream and Play today from Tesco, I think it was a bargain at £29.99, great price, alot of the cheaper travel cots I looked at cant be used as soon as baby is standing and my little boy pulls up to standing all the time now, so I needed to be carefull about my choice in travel cots. It weighs around 10kg so its not light but managable, and it comes with a handy carry bag which will help alot.
As soon as we got home I opened up the box to have a play, it was very easy to set up, once we had read the instructions, we tried to have a go on our own first and couldnt get the bars to lock but when looking it was so easy, you just unwrap the mattress from the outside of the cot, then slightly open the sides out, but before fully pushing the middle down pull the side bars up so they lock, then push the bottom until its flat, you then place the mattress inside and its good to go! We havent used it for sleep yet but I will be using something to make it more comfortable for my son when we do, the mattress that comes with it is very hard, just like hard board with a tiny amount of padding, so I will put something down to make it a little more comfortable then it is. From speaking to others this seems to be a common thing with travel cots though.
When we set it up we put our son straight in it to see what he thought and he was happy for some time in it and easily pulled up to look at us properly, it is very sturdy and he could easily cruise around the edge without it wobbling at all. We have since filled the base of the cot with play balls and set it up in our living room so there is a safe place for him to go when I need to pop to the loo for example.
