I first came across these foot stools when we were away on holiday and they had them in the bathroom there. When I returned home I came across a review on here for this Ikea Forsiktig Childrens school, all the reviews spoke positively about it and so I started to plan a trip to Ikea. The trip never happened as I asked my sister in law who lives near a store to get a couple for me. This also saved me money as I didn't have to walk round the store and end up buying lots of things that I didn't need!

The Stool in use
Very simple in design this footstool is mainly white plastic The topside which your child stands on is covered in raised blue plastic discs which are rough to the touch and therefore act as a non slip surface. The standing area is approximately 28cm x 19cm which is plenty big enough for your little ones feet.

We keep one of these stools in our cloakroom and one in the bathroom. The cloakroom one is used for hand washing before meal times and this is a popular activity with one of my girls. The stool is hollow and so very light, there are 2 holes either side to make it easy to pick it up. My little girl can pick it up, position it in front of the sink and step up onto it ready for me to help her wash her hands. The same when it is time to clean her teeth. The stool is about 14cm high and this is just enough to give my girls enough height to wash their hands.
One of my twins has a condition which has delayed her standing and walking unaided but she seems quite confident when stood on this stool with a little support from me. The rim of the stool base is made of the same blue non slip plastic as the top, again it does the job really well and has never moved with one of my girls stood on it.

Keeping it clean
This stool is easy to keep clean with a quick squirt of my anti bacterial spray and a wipe with a damp cloth.

Price and availability
This stool is the bargain price of £2.50 at Ikea stores, it is not available to buy online at Ikea but can be bought at Amazon. For £2.50 it is amazing value for money.

Would I recommend?
Yes, this is a great buy for anyone with toddlers too little to reach things. I can see them having many other uses in the future such as baking and reaching those high up things, useful at times for me too!
