Advantages: All you need in one bag

Disadvantages: Doesn't keep them in like a travel cot will!

When my first child became too big for the travel cot we had but was still falling out of the cotbed at home, I knew that I had to find a sleeping solution for when we were travelling away from home. I looked at bed rails which provide some solution but only to one side of the bed, unless you buy two!

My solution was to buy a Ready Bed, it is an inflatable bed inside of a cover that has it's own bedding all attached! So no need to take sheets, quilts, blankets when you travel, they have all they need in one handy carry bag.

The cover removes completely and can be put into the washing machine for complete cleaning. It has incorporated bolsters down the sides to help keep the child in bed, but even if they do roll out they are already on the floor so no pain involved - a definite plus. It also comes with a headboard at the top so they can't fall over the top.

I searched and found a new one on ebay that cost £30 with delivery. The version I bought comes with it's own battery operated pump (batteries not included) for easy use wherever you are, but also comes with attachments that fit a mains operated pump also. The bed inflates within minutes and is ready to be slept in.

The Ready Bed is a good option for sleep-overs if you do not have room to have permanent additional beds, because it can be packed away after use.

I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for safe sleeping solutions for children who are very active during sleep and feel that a bed rail is not going to be effective enough, I would also recommend practice runs at home before first use on holiday.
