Advantages: Easy to put up / take down, looks lovely
Disadvantages: None
For Christmas this year we needed to stay at my in laws, but my nearly 2 year old girl was too big for the travel cot. I'd heard of Ready Beds before, but I'd never seen one, but confident that this was the answer to my daughter's travel / sleep needs, I ordered the In The Night Garden My First Ready Bed from Amazon for around £25 (it seems to be coming up cheaper now).
My daughter absolutely loves In The Night Garden so I was hoping that the colourful bed with her favourite characters would mean she'd be keen to try it out.
**What Do You Get in the Box?**
You get the In The Night Garden My First Ready Bed, which is a thick plastic blow up type bed with a soft cover, an instruction / warranty card, the foot pump (which is in two parts, the pump and the pipe) and this is all boxed. You don't need to keep the box because the ready bed becomes it's own bag with handle.
**Looks**
Well obviously as this is In The Night Garden My First Ready Bed it's in primary colours with Iggle Piggle and Upsy Daisy on the duvet part and the Tombliboos on the pillow part. It's really pretty and my little girl loves it :)
**Pumping Up**
The foot pump which attaches to a port on the back of the underside head part of the ready bed is easy to plug in and it takes maybe 15 mins of non vigorous pumping to get it to a comfy feel.
**Sleepy Time**
Well my little one went straight for it - she fell asleep in the car the first time and was transferred to the ready bed, she must have been comfortable under the little cover because she stayed asleep for a good hour and a half and had to be woken up when we went out! She then spent the night in her little bed, she was happy as larry and very comfortable and warm.
Since then, though we haven't travelled again yet, she has used it for daytime naps when I work from home, so I can keep an eye on her. So we do get plenty of use out of it.
**Travelling**
Once the air is removed (by rolling the ready bed with the valve open), the head part of the underside covering tucks around the ready bed and exposes a carry handle making it a lot like a sleeping bag in size and weight. It takes up hardly any room (and it includes a pocket for the pump) and it's fantastic to travel with - far far better than the heavy, hard to assemble travel cot which we had to use when she was very small. We no doubt will be taking this away with us.
**Overall**
I can't recommend the In The Night Garden My First Ready Bed enough, for the looks, the comfort and the money it's absolutely spot on and I'll happily recommend it to all my friends with young children who need a travel bed solution.
Overall I'll give this five out of five, I only wish I'd bought it sooner!!
Summary: A great buy!
