      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A very good quality bed for the child

My child hates to sleep alone and always wants to sleep with us. I bought a new cotbed from kiddicare 2 years back thinking he will sleep in it straightaway but he didn't. But it's got nothing to do with the bed, it's just my child doesn't like to be away from us. But the bed was very good. But it was of good depth so we could leave our child in it when you have to do some important thing in the kitchen- it served like a playpen too!!! Once he sleeps in it then he couldn't cross the side slats and get out of the bed which was safe and good until he became taller.

      Price and contents-
I bought it for £99.99 then and it came with a complete set of bedding and also with a detachable canopy. It had mattress, one pillow cover, a quilt with quilt cover, bed bumper and the matching cloth canopy. All these were on a beautiful printed cloth with teddy bear patchworks.

Transformation from infant bed to toddler bed-
Now that my child is slightly grown up I use this as a toddler bed. The whole process of converting it from infant bed to toddler bed was very easy.- just remove a few screws and detach the side slats and extra foot length- and a new toddler bed is ready. My child now thinks it's like our bed and likes to sleep there.

      Delivery-
I bought it online from kiddicare.com and it was delivered the next day.

      Quality-
I have used the bedding almost everyday from the past year and have been regularly washed- including the quilt. And still all's in good condition. My kid jumps on the bed like a trampoline (!!!) and it's still sturdy. So don't be carried away for something expensive that you see in mothercare or mamas and papas. This online site is also very cheap and is of good quality.
You might save enough money to buy your child a pram or a bike for later.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

My daughter has always been a bad sleeper and when she got to 18 months she suddenly decided that she hated her cot. She would scream and scream and as she was quite tall for her age we decided that maybe she couldn't get comfortable so decided to look for a toddler bed. I looked at several beds and couldn't believe the price, some were £100+ and although they all claim to last until 8 years I didn't believe them. I put a query on a baby site for advice and was recommended this bed from Kiddicare. It's only £50 and that includes post and packaging. It's red tubular metal and has a small safety rail on both sides and comes complete with a comfortable foam safety mattress with detchable, washable cover. Now I know red metal sounds ugly but it really fits in well with my daughters colour scheme of bright Winnie the Pooh and furniture in primary colurs. This really is a great bed and my daughter loves it and if she does fall out it's very low off the ground so she can't hurt herself. The only downside to the bed is that it doesn't come ready assembled and like all toddler beds it is too small for me to get in and get her a cuddle. My daughter still hates going to bed but at least she is now comfortable and sleeps through the night.
