When I was expecting my second child we needed to move my eldest boy out of the nursey and into his own room to make way for the new baby. He was 18 months old at the time and we decided to give him a proper boys room. Maybe this was more for us than him because at 18 months I don't think he was too bothered how his room looked. Anyway one of the things we really wanted was a car bed. We looked around for a while but didn't see anything we liked, then I came across the Little Tikes Roadster Bed in the Woolworths catalogue. We were very kindly given the little tykes cosy cottage bed for my daughter by somebody on the freecycle network, as we needed her cotbed for her new baby brother, and at 2.5 years old she was ready for a big girls bed. This is a true little girls bed, it is basically shaped like a cottage at the head, with a blue roof, pink walls and a little hidey window with fully functioning shutters. The sides and bottom of the bed are basically like a garden fence/gate. It has wooden slats and takes a standard cot bed mattress. Not exactly a cot bed but smaller than a normal sized single bed. This bed is plastic and shaped as a car [roadster to be precise]. It is bright blue and comes with four wheels, slight bonnet and twin exhausts. It has a wooden slatted base which gives plenty of out of the way storage room for those little bits and pieces. It stands about eight inches off the ground and is slightly bigger than standard cot bed size. It takes cot bed sheets, quilt etc and has its own mattress provided. My son moved into this bed when he was thirteen months old and has only ever rolled out of it twice when he turned himself round and kept rolling over. I assure you he ...
