I bought this lollipop lane moses basket stand from a baby shop called shellytots in Bolton where I live, for £25. Lollipop lane have their own website, if you look on google, but it is more expensive buying direct from them! It is also available elsewhere online such as amazon. I always wanted a moses basket stand that rocks, so I could gently rock my baby to sleep when he arrived! I was so pleased with this one, as it is a natural colour wood, quite like beech wood, and it fitted in with the furniture in my bedroom perfectly. It also comes in a darker colour too. I had bought a Mama and Papas moses basket, and as most are a standard size, it fitted my stand perfectly. The straps that actually hold the basket in place are easily adjustable. I managed to make it wider to fit my mama and papas zoom carry cot on there whilst I had my son downstairs during the day, instead of bringing the whole pram in for him to sleep in, so this was handy. This stand was quite difficult to put together, it took two of us, me and my boyfriend. I wouldn't like to have had to do it on my own, it would have taken me hours! In fact I don't think I would have been strong enough to do it. You really need to have some strength to twist the allen key so the poles are tight enough. My boyfriend was knackered by the time it was up!. However, once put together, it is so sturdy. It feels so well made and not cheap at all. It comes with a shelf on the bottom which is made of a cream fabric. This straps on with velcro so can easily be removed to wash. This is handy to put blankets on, but I'm not sure what else really to put on there, I didn't really use it! However it is a nice extra if you want to put bits and bobs on it. When my little man arrived, I often tried rocking him to sleep in his moses basket, but I didn't find this stand very easy to rock smoothly. It only rocked very slightly and felt quite rough and clumsy, so I never really bothered with it in the end. My baby didnt seem to like being rocked in it, it never settled him! It is really lightweight and easy to move about in the room though. This was a really nice looking stand, and although my son only used it for 3 months, I'm glad I bought it, I managed to dismantle it, and as its in perfect condition, I will definitely use it for my second baby. For £25 it is a nice strong stand, but not that good a rocking stand.
I have bought two of the Lollipop Lane Rocking Moses Basket Stands. The reason for this is that when my baby was a newborn, it was easier to have one stand upstairs and one stand downstairs and therefore I did not have to carry the stand up and down the stairs every day. I am glad that I bought the rocking stand for the moses basket as this proved to be really handy getting my son to sleep at night when he was a few weeks old. I was able to hold the handle from my bed and rock it back and fore without even having to get up. The stand has a handy space at the bottom to put extra blankets or toys and therefore if your baby gets warm in the night you can just take a blanket off and place it underneath. The stand has the Lollipop Lane motif on the bottom of it at the front, however, the second stand that I bought the motif was put on upside down. It was not a real problem, just looked a bit strange, so I hid this stand upstairs so no-one could see it.
Rocking stand in natural wood finish.
