Advantages: simple move from cot to bed

Disadvantages: initial outlay, bedding more expensive and special sized mattress

When chosing our cot we decided that a cotbed would be the best thing to do, I have heard so many tales of children struggling to get used to being in a bed from a cot. I know that you have to fork out a lot of money for them plus all the bedding, sheets, blankets etc are more expensive but it will last Jack now until he is about 4.

When Jack was a newborn and putting him in the cot he looked lost in it as it was so big, but now he loves it. There is enough room for him to move around and he loves to roll from side to side. I usually find him upside down at the bottom some mornings. When we do make the step of letting him use it as a bed rather than a cot all we have to do is take the sides off, simple. I am sure that he will fall out several times before he gets the idea, but he is only 7 months at the moment so don't need to worry just yet.
