I had been looking for a nice baby-ish rug for my daughter's room for quite some time, I'm trying not to do the 'everything pink, Disney Princesses / Hello Kitty' thing for a while yet, she's only 19 months and for a young child I much prefer more muted tones and neutral colours (before she starts asking for hot pink walls...) so I was pleased to find the Teddy's Wash Day rug in Mamas & Papas for a reasonable £15 in store.
It's a sweet little teddy bear in beige, brown, black and white and it looks very in place on my daughter's soft yellow carpet. It's babyish, but it will be used for a good few years and if we have another child we'll use it for him or her as well so I certainly think the longevity of it is not in question.
In terms of feel, it's very soft which is important as my daughter sits on it to play in the mornings in her pyjamas / nightie so her legs are on it and they don't get irritated as some coarser rugs can do. It stays on the carpet well, though it did take a day or so to flatten down as we bought it rolled, and the backing is substantial. There hasn't been any pile loss, I haven't had to wash it yet but I have of course hoovered it and it is as new. My daughter loves it and still shouts 'teddy bear!' when she sees it, so it certainly has her seal of approval!
Overall I do highly recommend the Mamas & Papas Teddy's Wash Day Rug, and indeed based on the quality of this rug, I'd try other rugs in the Mamas & Papas range. I know that M&P isn't always the cheapest but their baby ranges for nurseries are so sweet and I don't think £15 is ridiculous for a rug at all. Personally I'd prefer to shop around for the furniture and accessorise with the range which looks nicest, and in this case it's Teddy's Wash Day.
Highly recommended, five stars out of five, a lovely rug for any child's nursery room.
I really like the Mamas and Papas Teddy's Wash Day range. It is sold in a number of shops, including many independents, which is where I tend to shop. This Rug from the range is gorgeous. It looks great on the floor. It is a really soft surface on which to lay your baby. Also, if you are in to matching decorations for your nursery, this rug is a really big bold feature that unites all the different bits in the range together. I think it looks absolutely great and is the main feature of the nursery. I particularly like the fact that not only is there a teddy bear motif as the design but the rug is actually shaped like the bear. This is great because when you put your baby on their tummy for play time, the bumps on the edges are easier for them to grip to lift up and explore. It is a lovely neutral beige colour, like everything else in the Teddy's Wash Day range. This means that you can kit out your nursery even if you do not know whether you are having a boy or a girl. Also, it will fit with whatever colour scheme you choose for your nursery. In this age of Magnolia, I imagine this beige range from Mamas and Papas is extremely popular.
I bought mine for about £15, which was pretty expensive but it is good quality and looks great. I do however think hormones got the better of me and I would not normally spend that much on a small rug.
