      Poor value for money.

==Overview== Having just been lucky enough to welcome our darling baby girl into the world, we had spent the months prior to the birth sorting out a lovely nursery for her to sleep in. We decided on a lemon theme and the Zeddy and Parsnip range out of Mamas and Papas. Zeddy is a Zebra and Parsnip is a rabbit. One of the items we purchased was a Zeddy the Zebra rug. The rug costs £65 at full price but we got it at a discount for £52 from Mamas and Papas store. The size is 122cm x 78cm. == My Opinion== I think the rug is well made and in the first instance looks quite fluffy and good quality. However, after only a few weeks of using it in the room, I feel that the rug now looks quite matted and flattened which isn't something I'd expect from a Mamas and Papas product so soon after buying and using it. We don't wear shoes in the house so it isn't as though the rug is getting too much wear and tear from shoes. The other slight issue I have with it is that it moves quite a bit on the floor and so sometimes ends up under my feet and I have tripped - not ideal when carrying a baby! Between the shabby look and the potential hazard (I know this applies to any rug), we decided to put it away never to be used again. ==Overall== I feel as though I haven't got my money's worth from this item as it has been £50 spent on a product that looks shabby after only a few weeks with very light foot tread on it. I feel quite disappointed and wish we had saved our money to buy something else that wouldn't wear out so quickly. I can't recommend purchasing this item and I would think twice before buying another rug from Mamas and Papas in case the same thing happened again.

        Mamas and Papas Zeddy rug

When we first decorated a nursery for my little girl, over three years ago now, we went to Mamas and Papas and fell in love with their Zeddy and Parsnip range. We wanted something that was gender neutral as we didn't know whether we were having a boy or a girl at that point and so this lemon yellow pallette was perfect. Also we thought the characters were quite cute too. Zeddy is a zebra (although I think he looks more like a donkey or a horse, but hey) and Parsnip is a rabbit. We spent a fortune on decorating the nursery in everything Zeddy and Parsnip but I've been really pleased with the products as they ahve lasted well over three years now and are still going strong in the nursery which is now my sons room. They still look as good as new and so I definitely recommend Mamas and Papas for good qwuality. One of the items we bought was this Zeddy rug. We have quite a big blank space in between the door and the changing table and so we thought this would be the perfect place for it. Plus, it finishes off the room perfectly and is just enough of a touch to bring the characters into the room without being overkill. The rug is in the shape of Zeddy the zebra and he is in a standing up position. The rug is a nice colour with mixtures of dark brown and cream, the colours of Zeddy in all his other items but they blend well together and in my opinion work really well with the yellow colour for the rest of the room. The rug is really thick and quite heavy so when you place it on the floor it is really hard to move. My son and daughter have never been able to pick it up or move it so it stays in place in the room well. It has a nice backing to the rug too so that helps it stay in place as well. What I also like about the rug is that it is really quite textured and so the stripes on his back and his feet are raised up a bit higher than the wool in the centre of the rug so you get a really nice look and feel to the rug. It is 100% wool. We have never had to have this rug clean, it seems to wear really well. If I have ever dropped anything on it I just quickly dap it with a baby wipe and it comes clean immediately. I find this rug really comfortable to stand on. I am often on it in bare feet as it is in front of our changing table so its nice to stand on when you are changing a nappy. It was quite expensive. I can't actually believe that I spent £65 on a rug for a nursery room but I think we went a little mad for our first child way back when. A quick look on the Mamas and Papas website though shows me it is in their sale for £52. The measurements from the website are given as: L: 122 x H: 87cm approx. We've really enjoyed this rug and I would recommend it as a nice addition to a nursery.
