Nice finishing touch to the room

This is a review of the Millie and Boris range Curtains we have in our nursery, from the Mamas and Papas shop. We chose the M&B theme during my pregnancy and seem to keep collecting items as we go along.

      Ever evolving Millie and Boris
I sourced a few items from past ranges of M&B from ebay - the colour scheme remains the same but the design is updated every few years. Unfortunately I couldn't find these curtains on ebay as they are a new range and I didn't really like the old range ones which were on ebay, so we bought them from the M&P shop.

      Purchase decision
We have had two nurseries in our daughter's lifetime due to moving house and the room here is slightly smaller so we wanted to make it really nice for her, hence the decision to purchase M&B curtains. I was slightly hesitant due to the price but we looked around for ages for something and these were the nicest ones we saw.

      Price
The curtains retail at £75 normally but currently are in the sale at £60 on the Mamas and Papas website. The online catalogue Very also sells them for £75. Still a pretty high price for unlined curtains!

      Size and washing
You have to make one size fit all really as the curtains are only available in one size. Fortunately they are perfect in our room. Per single width:132 x drop:160cm . The curtains are also washable. As the bottom two thirds are plain it would be easy to take these curtains up if you needed to.

      Product Description
The M&B curtains are described as lined but it is so thin they are really see through. Fortunately we have a blackout blind underneath, so this is unimportant as they are more for decoration than practical use. The curtains can be used as tie top or using hooks on a rail (we have done the latter) and the tie tops just hang down but they look nice and decorative. They are cream and beige in colour with the top part a sort of waffle material that is a little thicker than below. They feature the lettering 'Millie and Boris' in fancy script on the top of the curtains too. The picture on the website does not really demonstrate these curtains very well so if you are considering a purchase I would advise you visit their shops to see them on display properly.

      Nicest bit
The nicest part of the curtains is that they have padded decorative stars hanging down like charms and they are lovely to look at. They are two tone in beige and cream as fitting in with the M&B range. The stars are at the outer edge which is near our change table and sometimes dear daughter grabs them which is not good news as the curtains are very cream so if it's a messy one, I slide the curtains over to the right (away from us) so they are out of reach! The things you do as a parent never cease to amaze me but I really don't want to be having to wash them all the time.

      Final thoughts
These curtains were terribly expensive but do finish the room off nicely. We will probably sell ours when we have finished with them to try and recoup some of our money back! I think they look really nice and far better than a plain pair. They match the lampshade, bedding and other accessories we have from the M&B range so in conclusion I'd say they are a nice (but not necessary) touch to the room. Whilst they are quite childish, they are not really babyish so they will last us a good few years yet, especially if we bravely venture on to child no. two!!
