Peppa Pig Pop Up Tidy
Advantages: looks nice, adds some colour, no assembly
Disadvantages: bit flimsy, not ideal for substantial toy storage
I don't quite now how it got so out of control but my daughter just seems to collect an amass of toys day by day. I think her bedroom looks like the back section of the Argos catalogue infused with every girly item in hte shelf of the Disney store lol. Storage it a big problem as she has 2 hello kitty toy boxes, a large transparent plastic box from Ikea and still the toys overflow everywhere. Some time ago, I thought I'd invest in some girly looking storage for her room and so ended up buying this Peppa Pig pop up tidy for her room from amazon for £6.99.
The pop up tidy came in quite basic packaging, and so flat packed it could actually be posted through my letter box. It's a really flexible material, with perforated holes in it. Unwrapping it out of the plastic packaging it literally popped up before my eyes, so absolutely no assembly required!
Once up and running, my first impression was a bit disappointed as it was smaller than I imagined. The dimensions are (Height) 44cm x (Width) 85cm x (Depth) 29 cm. It comes up in a rectangular shape, with a hole in the middle for inserting the toys into. This can fit a good few teddies, books, dolls, and other random bits of lego/puzzle pieces/dressing up outfits in it before it starts to become really crammed and just looks odd with sharp corners sticking out, bulging it out of shape. Over time I have also found we must be overloading it as it now permanently leans to one side, no matter how hard I try to adjust the toys so as to even it out, but regardless it now stands looking like the leaning tower of Peppa lol.
The design of it overall is nice and pink albeit a bit basic. There are 3 sides which are plain and pink, and one side with a picture of Peppa and George playing. I would have thought there would be images around the pop up tidy, but I guess we can live with just the one. Despite it's smallness it is actually an ideal height as my daughter can easily reach into the pop up tidy, and remove (more like projectile throwing) all the toys out of the tidy with ease.
Overall, this is cute as a room accessory but it is in no way ideal for actual, productive toy storage. Sure, Peppa brightens up the room a bit and adds some colour and character, but add more than a few teddies and anything weighty like books and puzzles and it crumbles like a biscuit in hot tea. Its cheap enough, so this should have flagged some warning bells and my head but nevertheless it's a decent buy so it gets a reasonable 3 out of 5.
Summary: a simple pop up tidy, but not extremely durable
