      A lovely gift

My friend recently gave birth to a baby boy and although I had made her up a baby box containing things like nappies, muslin cloths and clothes I knew that when she actually had the baby I would want to buy something blue or pink! I went shopping to our local card and gift shop and spotted a Russ brand sleeping blue bear which plays Brahms lullaby and knew that I had to buy that! The bear is approximately 24 centimetres in length and is a blue bear resting on his paws snuggling up to a soft blue blanket. The eyes and mouth of the bear are stitched on and so there are no buttons or such that would be a choking hazard to a young baby. The bear is a pale blue in colour and is super soft to the touch. There is a red patch on the bear's leg which says "press me" and when you press this it begins to play Brahms lullaby. There is no way of switching the lullaby off once you have pressed it (as I found out in the shop!) and it will continue to play for around one minute. In my opinion I think this is a really beautiful gift to give to someone who has just had a baby boy. The bear is so lovely and soft and would be lovely for a baby to snuggle up to once they get a bit bigger. There is nothing on the product which states how old a child must be to receive this teddy but I would imagine it is fine from birth as there are no choking hazards once the product tags have been removed. One negative point with the teddy is that once the batteries run out they cannot be replaced and so they teddy will no longer be a musical one. I still feel that this would be a lovely gift though and hopefully it will be something that my friends little boy will treasure as he grows up. The bear is only to be washed on the surface if it was to get dirty but I think this is pretty standard for many toys of this kind. The bear cost £9.99 from my local card shop and I would imagine that this is quite a standard price no matter where you were to buy the bear from. I am really hoping that my friend likes this gift as personally I think it is a gorgeous bear! I would certainly recommend it to people looking to buy someone a baby gift as it also comes in pink too so you could buy one for either a boy or a girl. In my opinion just for being super cute and soft this product earns 5 out of 5 dooyoo stars! Thank you for reading my review.
