Advantages: Changes into a bed.

Disadvantages: None

Having decided on a Winnie The pooh theme for my son's nursery I then discovered this Winnie The Pooh cot bed on the Toys R Us website, I instantly fell in love with it and simply had to have it! (Plus it matched my nursery!!)

I wanted to have a cot bed for my son as I just thought we would get a lot more use with it. For anyone that isnt aware what a cot bed it, it is just a normal cot for whilst the baby is small, but when the baby is big enough to sleep in a bed, the sides come off and the legs split in two so they are shorter, it is then converted into a bed. So I figured that we will be able to use this until our son is roughly 7ish years old.

I ordered it online with Toys R us, after a huge fiasco (see my other review on Toys R us) the cot bed finally arrived five weeks after I ordered it. The instructions were very clear and it was very easy to put together, of course I am saying this from a spectator's point of view as my husband put it all together, I just told him what to do!! There are three mattress height positions, they recommend you use the highest one whilst your baby cannot sit up, as it is easier to put your baby in and out of the cot without straining your back. You should then move it to the second one down when your baby can sit up, when your baby can stand you should move it to the lowest one, this will prevent your baby from climbing out, until they figure out how to pull themselves up on the bars!!

The cot is a very beautiful piece of furniture, it is made from solid pine and has Winnie the Pooh figures etched into the ends. The cot has plastic teething rails on the tops of the sides, this is so that when your baby develops teeth and can stand up he won't be able to chew away the wood, plus it won't damage his teeth or mouth if he does attempt to!! The thing I found most useful was that it has a drawer on wheels that fits under the cot and slides in and out, our nursery is quite small and I did worry that we wouldn't have enough storage space but this drawer is very large and so far contains all of Rhys' clothes.

The cotbed didn't come with a mattress, you must purchase this separately, you need a mattress that measures 140cm x 70cm. I bought this from Argos, a sprung mattress cost me £27. The dimensions of the cot bed are 99cm high, 147cm long and 75cm wide.

I love this cotbed, in fact it is my favourite piece of furniture in the nursery.

Summary: An ideal piece of nursery furniture
