Advantages: matches the rest of the range, relaxing for babies

Disadvantages: too long, can't be hung above babies, loud wind up mechanism

My husband and I decided not to find out the sex of our twins. It made deciding how to decorate the nursery tricky as it needed to be right for two boys, two girls or one of each! We discovered the Zooby Island range in Boots. It includes lots of different things, from bedding to toys and is the most modern unisex range I have seen.

We needed a mobile which could easily be moved between cots, as we have one in our bedroom for night time and one in the nursery for daytime naps. The Zooby Island mobile has a strong clip on the end of the arm which positions it securely whilst remaining easy to move.

We also wanted a mobile which would play music that our babies would associate with time to sleep. The wind up mechanism plays Brahm's Lullaby (as most do!) and the boys are immediately relaxed by it. The problem is that it's quite loud to wind up, so if the babies are half asleep and you want to play it again so they drop off, it's hard to do without disturbing them.

The mechanism also turns the mobile, which makes the colourful lion and 'doughnuts' turn. My sons like to watch this, but the mobile is quite long and with the cot at it's highest level, it touches the matress and therefore can't be hung above the babies and doesn't turn.

It's lovely because it matches the rest of the bedding etc, but there are several drawbacks and I wouldn't buy it at £19.99 (Boots price, I'm not sure if it's available anywhere else yet) if I didn't already have the rest of the set.

Summary: Good as part of the range, but I wouldn't buy it on it's own.
