If you have read my previous reviews you will know that there was a big obsession with Winnie The Pooh for my daughter's nursery. And I was more than happy when we came across this rug! We purchased it from Amazon and I think it cost around £25.
I was thrilled when this rug arrived. It was fairly large and measured 63 x 113cm. It was a long rectangle shaped rug and was very soft to touch. The design of it was beautiful. The rug was cream and beige with a coy looking Winnie The Pooh on. This rug was based on the Sketchbook style of Winnie The Pooh. It was just perfect for my daughter's nursery and although different to the other Winnie The Pooh items we had purchased it still fitting in perfectly.
The rug was lovely and thick with a nice plush feeling to it. My daughter loved to wriggle around on it when she was tiny. It had the usual backing to it like most rugs which I assume would be really slippery on laminate flooring but as we had carpet it never slipped and always held in place.
You can wash this rug in the washing machine but you cannot tumble dry it as it will ruin the rug. it washes up as good as new even after my daughter had spilt drink on it and been sick on it.
It is a traditional looking mat and is quite classical in the way that this rug will never go out of fashion. I think even if we put it out now it would still be okay and not look out of place.
I definately recommend this rug if you can still get hold of it.
My sister has had this rug since she was a baby but when we moved house she had a new In The Night Garden rug, recently though she's gone off In The Night Garden a bit so my dad had the idea of getting this out of the loft and putting it in her bedroom again for a change. We kept it originally because of it still being in brill condition but I don't think any of us really thought it would be used again but no-one wanted to be the one to say get rid of it!
It's a gorgeous rug, nothing like any other Winnie the Pooh product I've seen because of it being so old fashioned looking. When I say old fashioned I should probably say classic, because it's definitely not a moth eaten old fashioned thing and is stylish and good enough even for an adult who loves Pooh Bear to have on display in their living room or bathroom.
The rug we've got is exactly the same as the one in the photo Dooyoo have got up, it's available in other designs as well though including Winnie the Pooh sitting down with a honey pot. I love the way the rug has been designed because it's so simple and stands out lovely next to all the rest of the brightly coloured decorations my sister has got in her bedroom.
The rug is quite thick, it's got the same pile as most kids bedroom rugs but feels dead soft on your feet. The backing of it makes the rug a bit slippery and that was a problem in our last house because we had laminate in the bedrooms and I think everyone went flying at least once when she had this rug down at that house! Now we've moved and put carpet in the bedroom this isn't a problem but one thing I have noticed is that the corners of this rug are a pain because they keep folding up on themselves and we can't seem to stop that happening!
This rug is machine washable and it's a good job because it's been puked on, sweets have been stuck to it and all sorts of other things that usually happens in little kids bedrooms. I'd say to wash it as cool as you can and definitely don't go above 40 or tumble dry the rug, there's not actually anything that says NOT to tumble dry it on the label but looking at it I don't think it would keep it's shape very well.
I definitely recommend this rug to ANYONE who is looking for something a bit different but wants to stick to a classic character. I love it because it's a change from the bright yellow bear and red t.shirt, I think it's dead traditional looking and stands out lovely in my sister's bedroom as well as being cosy on her feet when she gets out of bed in the morning!
